  Q: Do you provide transportation?
A: All rentals start and end at our docks.  Transportation of canoes is sometimes provided for groups with advance reservations.
Q: What age must children be to ride in a canoe?
A: The smallest PFD (life vest) provided is for children over 30 pounds.  Smaller children are allowed but you must bring your own properly fitting PFD.
Q: How many people fit in a canoe?
A: Maximum rated capacity for all of our canoes is 4 people, not to exceed 565 pounds, 2 canoe seats and 2 on-floor cushions.
Q: Do I need to make reservations?
A: Reservations are suggested for groups of 5 or more rentals.
Q: How long does it take to canoe the canal?
A: The main section of the canal is 34 miles long.  The duration of your trip is solely decided by you.  For most canoeists, this is 1 to 2 hours.
Q: How far can I canoe in 1 hour?
A: Most canoeists travel at about 2 m.p.h..
Q: Do canoes and kayaks tip easily?
A: Staying centered and keeping a low center of gravity are important to stability.  Although tipping over is rare, if you do tip over, the canoe or kayak will float and be able to support you.
Q: If the canoe does tip over, do you come and get us?
A: No.  Float the canoe or kayak to the bank and slowly pull it out of the water on it's side.  This will allow the water to drain out.  You will then be able to get back in and continue paddling.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: No.  Only cash and checks are accepted.
